This vest is made from a faded and worn Irish Chain style quilt. The quilt is made of cottons and hand quilted with a white backing and a polyester batting. I used the original zig-zag edge of the quilt for the edge of this vest. I added the mustard and navy edging on the neck and armholes and pocket edges. It has wooden buttons. There are some mended areas and there is some yellowing on the inside. The vest is lightweight and can be layered. It would be great in spring as a layer, in summer as a jacket or in fall with a hoodie or sweater underneath.
To care for this vest you should wash it as little as possible or spot wash it or dry clean it. If you must wash it, do so in cold water and by hand or in the machine separately on delicate cycle and then hang it to dry.
